Dear Parents,
We warmly welcome you to our school webpage and hope you will take some time to view some of our fantastic programs and achievements of our community. Our school prides itself on providing the best possible start for our students as they prepare for bright futures. The school council strongly believes in a free education for all students and have committed to have no student fees.
Our brilliant staff realise they have joint responsibility and we share in helping your child to grow by providing an environment where children can develop to their natural and full potential. Our curriculum and school programs aim to produce not just outstanding students but outstanding people.
Our school has a tradition of high level academic achievement of its students in Literacy and Numeracy, with many of our children producing excellent results on a state and national scale. We have a vibrant sporting program which includes inter-school sport, bike safety and swimming education classes which are free to all students.
At Preston North East Primary School we encourage the active participation of parents in what is happening at the school, and welcome assistance from parents within school programs. Opportunities for parent involvement will be provided during the year and direct requests for assistance in some areas will be made from time to time.
Our school community embraces the diverse cultural background of our students. We have Vietnamese and Arabic speaking support staff working with our families to improve student and parent engagement. We have mother-tongue Mandarin and Vietnamese language classes available for students. Our school has developed a sister-school relationship in Vietnam with staff and students having the opportunity to experience a cross-cultural educational experience in the future.
Prospective parents and students are always welcome to visit our school and can make an appointment by phoning us on 9478 8077 or contacting us via our email address preston.ne.ps@education.vic.gov.au. We are taking Prep enrolments, so do not hesitate to contact us and organise a school tour.
Yours sincerely,
Phillip Banks
