An important aspect of school life at Preston North East Primary School is developing student voice and agency.
Our students are encouraged to actively contribute to decisions about their learning and environment.
Our student leaders play an important role in creating a school environment that is caring, safe and friendly.
Junior School Council
The Junior School Council is made up of representatives from every class in the school. JSC meetings are a valuable opportunity for students to develop their skills in being leaders, organisers and active members of their community.
They meet regularly to discuss concerns, issues and opportunities for improvement.
They coordinate fundraising opportunities to further improve the school environment and student wellbeing.
JSC members represent their classmates and chair regular class meetings.
School and House Captains
At Preston North East Primary School, we have four School Captains and eight House Captains.
These students participate in leadership training workshops, and are responsible for a variety of tasks around the school. School Captains host school assemblies and represent PNE students at school events.
There are four ‘houses’: Laurel, Tyler, Oak and Ash. House Captains are responsible for organising sport events throughout the year and representing their Houses.
