In NAIDOC* Week, we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity to learn about and build connections with community and country for our First Nations students and their non-indigenous peers.
Our students learn about First Nations cultures and histories through music, dance, storytelling, indoor and outdoor games, research, and art activities. We learn about the traditional custodians of the land PNE is built on, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations, and Aboriginal communities from all over Australia. Our special Indigenous Garden plays host to yarning circles and campfire conversations with the help of our Koori Education Support Officer.
