School Council
The School Council is an elected body of teachers and parent representatives who voluntarily manage the affairs and general business of the school. Its functions being:
- Management of school finances.
- Oversight of buildings and property maintenance and improvement.
- Employment of ancillary staff.
- Cooperation with the Principal and teaching staff in developing policy and educational aims.
- The stimulation of community interests in the school.
The School Council meets on Mondays, (usually the third Monday of the month at 6pm). Parents are welcome to attend any of the meetings. All parents of children attending the school are eligible to be nominated for a position on the Council. Positions are generally for a two-year period. Elections are held in February/March when half of the Council positions become vacant.
